The advanced search feature can be reached by clicking on the "Search" button on the left-hand navigation. This search is built for technical users of the product that are looking for specific information on a particular table.

On this screen, you can choose to filter your search by Datasets, Dashboards and People. Below is an explanation of the criteria:

  • Datasets: This is a search of all the resources that come from your warehouses or primary place that the tabular data is stored.

  • Dashboards: This is a search of all the visualizations that are stored in your BI tools.

  • People: This is a search that surfaces the resources (both datasets and dashboards) that were created by a particular person in the organization.

  • Analysis: Shows any analysis that has been done for queries and charts

  • Question: Shows any questions that have been answered in the past

  • Collection: Shows any collection that have been created to organize resources

  • Jobs: Shows any dbt or airflow jobs in Secoda

  • Terms: Shows the metrics that have been defined in Secoda

Additionally, you can filter this search further by using the advanced search criteria provided under the resource section. Below is an overview of the definitions of the different advanced search features:

  • Source: The source filter allows you to search by the exact database name using regex search criteria

  • Column: The column filter allows you to search by the column name, which could exist across multiple tables

  • Schema: The schema filter allows you to search by the schema name

  • Table: The source filter allows you to search by the exact table name using regex search criteria

  • Tag: The tag filter allows you to find specific tags that have been populated by the admin of the workspace
